Intelligent Oil-Life Monitorâ„¢

The Lincoln Aviator features an Intelligent Oil-Life Monitorâ„¢ that indicates when you should change the oil, based on your usage of the vehicle. This helps you make timely oil changes that can prevent more severe damage occurring down the road.

If you use your vehicle routinely, make regular commutes with highway driving, do little to moderate towing, and travel on mostly flat roads, an oil change every 7,500 to 10,000 miles is recommended. If you utilize your vehicle for moderate to heavy towing, travel on mountainous roads or go off-road, or have extended idling periods, an oil change is recommended every 5,000 to 7,500 miles. For maximum towing, extreme hot or cold operation, or extended idling, you should have the oil changed every 3,000 to 5,000 miles.

Other Services Recommended With Oil Changes

In addition to routine oil changes based on usage, you also want to keep track of other services that are recommended to occur at the same time as each oil change. As the interval between oil changes will vary at times, you want to have the following tasks completed at each oil change service appointment:

  • Tire rotation
  • Multi-point inspection
  • Inspect brakes, engine, axles, and more

Completing these services can help reduce the number of times you need to replace certain parts. It can also help identify potential repairs that are needed before they lead to more advanced problems.

Other Maintenance Items

At certain mileage milestones or every several years, there are services you will want to have completed to make sure your vehicle has many more years ahead of it.

For example, every three years, you should have the brake fluid changed. Every 20,000 miles, you should replace the cabin air filter. Every 30,000 miles, you should replace the engine air filter.

Every 100,000 miles, you should have the spark plugs replaced and inspect the accessory drive belt. Every 150,000 miles, you should change the automatic transmission fluid and replace the accessory drive belt.

Any services that your vehicle needs will be conducted by our experts at our service center. You can rest assured that your car is in good hands and will be ready for the road again soon.
