If you utilize your vehicle for moderate to heavy towing, travel on mountainous roads or go off-road, or have extended idling periods, an oil change is recommended every 5,000 to 7,500 miles. For maximum towing, extreme hot or cold operation, or extended idling, you should have the oil changed every 3,000 to 5,000 miles.
In addition to routine oil changes based on usage, you also want to keep track of other services that are recommended to occur at the same time as each oil change. As the interval between oil changes will vary at times, you want to have the following tasks completed at each oil change service appointment:

At certain mileage milestones or every several years, there are services you will want to have completed to make sure your vehicle has many more years ahead of it.
For example, every three years, you should have the brake fluid changed. Every 20,000 miles, you should replace the cabin air filter. Every 30,000 miles, you should replace the engine air filter.
Every 100,000 miles, you should have the spark plugs replaced and inspect the accessory drive belt. Every 150,000 miles, you should change the automatic transmission fluid and replace the accessory drive belt.
